Performance Marketing Insights: Post event wrap-up

Earlier this week, Affiliate Window UK & US joined together in NYC for Performance Marketing Insights, the first advanced level performance marketing conference introduced to the US market by the team at A4u. With 50 speakers from across the globe and an agenda tailored to those truly passionate about the industry, it was an incredible two days packed full of insightful content, constructive panels discussing relevant and sometimes controversial topics, a wealth of networking opportunities and the perfect opportunity to catch up existing partners and forge new ones.

If you missed out, I highly recommend having a read of the very active #PMINYC twitter stream which was consistently being updated with data heavy stats, targeted performance marketing tips and motivating quotes from across the two days. Affiliate Window’s Managing Director, Mark Walters and Strategy Director, Kevin Edwards participated on two different panels, both of which were not short of an engaged audience full of perceptive questions and even some remarks on some of their own observations of the US performance market.

The keynote session, ‘Why the Digital Wallet Wars Matter’ presented by Forrester’s Denèe Carrington, was nothing short of superb. Denèe provided valuable insight on why marketers should take note of the digital wallet concept and offered her predictions with regards to consumer behavior. Carrington suggested that the digital wallet marketplace is still ‘nascent’ but will quickly gain momentum with early adopters. Her presentation gave an overview of the US digital wallet marketplace, including consumer and advertiser readiness, emerging digital wallet models, and the smart commerce experience.

Some of the brands in attendance at PMI included Spotify, Hyatt, Hilton, Saks Fifth Avenue, Ticketmaster, Calvin Klein and 1&1 Internet. The Performance Marketing Association was heavily involved in the event with Executive Director, Rebecca Madigan participating on two panels, promoting the growth of the US performance channel and offering early insight into what’s in store from the PMA in 2013.

According to two new forecasts from Forrester, US online retail sales are on the rise despite the current economic crisis. With this in mind, We-Care.com is the ideal online shopping portal which allows shoppers to donate a percentage of their online purchases to the association, nonprofit or school of their choice. The US is very large in the performance channel and many opportunities await those who can successfully utilize the programs we have on offer. With just a click, you can find the right program regardless of which platform it is on, giving you access to the over 1600 advertisers globally. We are the largest network in the UK and as a publisher on our network, you will gain access to some of the biggest brands in the market. With a growing online marketplace, the opportunity to increase your traffic overseas is ever more expanding.

Gaining access to any particular advertiser couldn’t be simpler. Firstly, click on the advertisers tab and filter by region. (Canada, Ireland, UK and US). Once you have chosen a program and clicked “join” as you would normally, the application will then either be reviewed by our in-house team or automatically approved. The links and tools are the same across all platforms, however to generate reports, the correct region must be applied.
