Affiliate Window Introduces Mobile Device Performance Reports for Advertisers & Publishers

Written by Lisa Hammond on . Posted in Technology

Affiliate Window is pleased to offer its clients unique insight into the performance of their mobile campaigns for the first time.

As a network we are privileged to have access to a wealth of insightful data, but organizing and presenting this in a way that adds value to our customers is a huge challenge for our strategists, designers and engineers.

With over 20% of sales generated through mobile devices and growth continuing unabated, there is a clear need for networks to offer publishers and advertisers the necessary tools to analyze mobile performance on a deeper level.

The new reports allow users to understand and optimize their affiliate activity for each device type (tablet, handset), or individual device (Apple iPad, Android tablet); providing insight into clicks, transactions, sale amount, commission, EPC, AOV and conversion rate.

Publishers are now able to:

  • Understand how advertisers perform across mobile devices
  • See their top mobile performers (this data can be used to select high-performing mobile advertisers for their mobile website)
  • Identify poorly performing advertisers on mobile devices (an indication of poor mobile experience or leakage)
  • See which devices perform well for them and focus traffic acquisition on those devices

Advertiser benefits include:

  • Understand how mobile channels are performing compared to one another
  • Locating strong mobile publishers and running targeted, mobile specific campaigns
  • Identifying weaker mobile performers and working more closely to see what can be optimized

Peter Loveday, Chief Technical Officer for Affiliate Window says: “As the only network to offer this level of insight, we anticipate this will further cement our position as the place where mobile performance really happens. Our intention is to add to and improve these reports over time so we welcome all your feedback and hope you find this initial offering a big help in developing your campaigns.”

A brief video demonstration highlighting key features of this new functionality can be found here.

Publisher Spotlight: For Me to Coupon

Written by Jasmin on . Posted in Publisher Spotlight

fmtc logoFor Me To Coupon (FMTC) takes the hassle out of running an affiliate coupon or deal site. The site spend thousands of hours each month testing, fixing and categorizing coupons, in addition to aggregating offers available through the network.

FMTC also builds deep links to sales and clearance offers, along with promotional shipping offers, all the while providing extensive data on every supported advertiser. Deals are cleaned, categorized and delivered, with the coupon data feed automatically updating publisher sites with fresh coupons and content around the clock.

The feed is available in a variety of ‘sizes’ to fit individual needs and every subscription includes all supported US and Canadian advertisers.

How does it work?

fmtc image1) From Me To Coupon joins relevant advertiser affiliate programs

2) They tap into APIs and comb through to find as many coupons and deals as possible

3) The stateside team of data specialists manually test each offer, fix any issues they find, standardize labels, add categories and offer details

4) Publishers provide affiliate IDs for each program or provide a Skimlinks Publisher ID instead

5) The data aggregated is neatly bundled into a feed that contains monetized links with the affiliate ID and/or a Skimlinks URL

6) The publisher site has a consistent flow of fresh coupons, deals, and content, with little to no effort

7)The commissions earned belong 100% to the publisher

The Monthly Digest: Issue 4

digestWelcome to Affiliate Window’s Monthly Digest; a round-up of the most relevant and interesting industry articles published in the last 30 days. Keep up to date with trending topics being debated within performance marketing, by reading our top five recommended posts each month.

The New Data-Driven Advertiser: Seeking New Levels Of Transparency & Control

“In the traditional advertising model, advertisers were pretty much in the dark when it came to their campaigns. The Internet helped bring certain areas into light, but the black-box approach still reigns supreme. However, as online advertising is becoming increasingly data-driven, the savviest advertisers now realize it can also illuminate their ad campaigns with an entirely new light.”

Google Gets Hyper-Localized With Web & Mobile Shopping

“Google recently released two new features that will likely send shockwaves through the e-commerce and digital marketing communities. The first e-commerce game changer is the upcoming global availability of Product Listing Ads for local businesses. When users search for a product on Google, for example, they will now see these Product Listing Ads, and should the user click on the ad, they will arrive at a “local storefront” where it is possible to browse the merchant’s store inventory.”

7 rules of content marketing in email

“I was speaking at a conference in early September, and during a panel discussion at the end of the day we were asked the questions, “How do I get my email noticed in a crowded inbox? How do I stand out?” The standard industry answer to this question is “be relevant.” But I’ve grown tired of that stock answer. It’s sort of like telling someone to “eat more vegetables.” Easy advice to give, harder advice to follow…”

Facebook examines how mobile users respond to auto-playing videos

“Facebook Inc. has said it is testing how its users react to videos that play automatically on mobile versions of the social network. When a user sees a video in his news feed, it will automatically play without sound. If the user taps the video, a full screen version of the video will play with sound. For now, the test involves only videos that individual users, celebrities or musicians upload to the site. It will not automatically play videos from embedded links that stem from YouTube, Vimeo or other video-content sites.”

Pinterest Appeals To Publishers With New Article Pins, Pushes To Become A Bookmarking & “Read It Later” Service

“Only days after announcing the launch of ads, social networking site Pinterest is now making an appeal to publishers. The company is today rolling out an updated “article” pin type, which is designed to expand Pinterest’s reach beyond those pinning photographs or product images linking to e-commerce sites to those also interested in saving and sharing stories they’re finding around the web.”
