Tax Update

Amazon began collecting sales tax in Florida on May 1.  Meanwhile the Internet tax resurfaced in Illinois, which could hurt Chicago-based Groupon.  Keeping track of the tax laws in each state can be confusing, as some states only force selected large retailers to collect from consumers.  Most of the legislatures have finished for the summer, so new legislation cannot be introduced until the fall; however this is a time when individual legislators draft new bills and search for co-sponsors.

Keep up to date with the hot topics being debated within performance marketing and all the goings on at Affiliate Window headquarters by reading our monthly wrap ups each month. See you next time.

Publisher Spotlight: Yieldify USA

Written by Sarah on . Posted in Publisher Spotlight

YieldifyYieldify. This easy-to-integrate software ensures that your visitor remains on your website and does not abandon or go to a competitor’s website.

How does it work?

Overlays: these are fully customizable to whatever the client desires, and appear just as customer is about to leave the site. The technology tracks user’s mouse movements and is aware as soon as the potential customer is set to leave the website. The advertiser is then given a ‘second chance’ to serve a relevant message or incentive, tailored to that specific user, based on their behaviour on the site.

Once an overlay appears, the user is presented with a promotion or sales message. They then enter their email address and the offer is either sent to them or they are redirected to the relevant page. On average, across all campaigns, leads are increased 342% and site revenues are increased by 14%. Video examples can be found here.

Yieldify can optimize the promotion shown based on:

• Traffic source: whether the visitor has come from PPC, Facebook or through organic means.

• Geo-location: the physical location of the user (country, city or town) and content in relevant languages.

• Page Targeting: offering different promotions on different pages of the site.

• Session Targeting: targeting first-time visitors or even fifth-time visitors.

• Season/Day/Time Targeting: offering different promotions at different times.

What else do you need to know?

• Optimized for Mobile: Provides the same functionality as the desktop platform, providing the opportunity to capitalise on the increase in mobile traffic.

• Full Service, In House: Dedicated account management, graphic design and technology teams.

• No Cost Email Data: Yieldify provides the email data on a weekly or monthly basis. This can also be integrated into any email marketing system.

• A/B Split Testing: The option to split-test multiple campaigns which allows for the testing of various templates, content and colours to find the best fit.

• Simple Set Up: Just one line of Java script is placed on each page of the website, whether manually or through a tag container; the set up takes less than five minutes.

• Non Invasive: By knowing exactly what the customer has been viewing, Yieldify is able to tailor the service to their desires and needs.

• No Monthly, Set up or Design Costs: All work is completed free of charge by the in-house team.
