Meet Affiliate Window at ASE 2014

aseOn August 10-12 2014, the Big Apple will be taken over by all things performance marketing – Affiliate Summit East is back!

The three day conference will be hosted at the New York Marriot Marquis and will include an exhibit hall with publishers, advertisers, vendors, and networks.

The Affiliate Window US team will be in attendance at Meet Market Table #65 – and we want to talk to you! Drop by to discuss what we offer for both publishers and advertisers.

At $11.6B In Q1 2014, Internet Ad Revenues Hit All-Time First Quarter High

Internet advertising revenues in the U.S. reached $11.6 billion for the first quarter of 2014, marking a 19 percent increase over the same period in 2013, according to the latest IAB Internet Advertising Revenue. Report figures released today by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and PwC US. This is an historic first-quarter high and a significant increase over last year’s first-quarter revenue level, which was record-setting at $9.6 billion.

Facebook Extends Ad Targeting To Web, App Use

Facebook is significantly expanding how it targets ads on the social network by including information about the sites that users visit and mobile apps they use outside Facebook. The company last fall began allowing retailers and marketers to retarget users who have previously visited their sites or maps. 

49.2% of retail marketing e-mails are opened on mobile devices

Nearly half of all retail marketing e-mails were opened on mobile devices in Q3/Q4 2013, mobile marketing firm Knotice finds. That’s up 13.9% from 43.2% in Q1/Q2 2013. 49.2% is close enough to half to say mobility has reached another tipping point. That’s the percentage of retail marketing e-mails opened on mobile devices in Q3/Q4 2013, according to a study of millions of retail e-mails by mobile marketing firm Knotice, a unit of IgnitionOne Inc.

Tax Update

Amazon began collecting sales tax in Florida on May 1.  Meanwhile the Internet tax resurfaced in Illinois, which could hurt Chicago-based Groupon.  Keeping track of the tax laws in each state can be confusing, as some states only force selected large retailers to collect from consumers.  Most of the legislatures have finished for the summer, so new legislation cannot be introduced until the fall; however this is a time when individual legislators draft new bills and search for co-sponsors.

Publisher Spotlight: Yieldify USA

How does it work?

Overlays: these are fully customizable to whatever the client desires, and appear just as customer is about to leave the site. The technology tracks user’s mouse movements and is aware as soon as the potential customer is set to leave the website. The advertiser is then given a ‘second chance’ to serve a relevant message or incentive, tailored to that specific user, based on their behaviour on the site.
